Ice Cream Challenge Fun over at Celebrate the Occasion this Week.

To see my Ginger Snap Scrap Design Team day post click here.

I am back with another Celebrate the Occasion Challenge for you this week.
This week the theme is all about ice cream!
Who doesn't love ice cream? Being it has been such a hot summer, this challenge was perfect to try and think about something cool.
I came across a cute cut file for an ice cream truck and little girl.
The ice cream truck just did not work out how I wanted it to, but the little girl sure is cute.
I then cut a couple ice cream cones from the Birthday Bash cart and added them on top of a mat from Elegant edges.
Looks like she is dreaming of a cool treat to find some relief from this heat.

Hope you will hop over and join me and the rest of the DT for some cool treats and show us your ice cream inspired project.

Here's How I did it...
A2 card base on white card stock
Pattern papers all form my scrap stash
Little girl sized and cut from svg file over at Bear Hugs
Peachy Keen face stamps for face
Mats sized and cute from Elegant Edges
Ice Cream cones cut at 1" from Birthday Bash
Sentiment from Scrappy Moms Stamps
Stickles and gem stickers for fun.

Paper Piecing with My Favorite Things

Today is my  DT day over at Ginger Snap Scraps

Today I did a card using a favorite stamp line of mine, My Favorite Things and their Pure Innocence stamps, to do a card using the paper piecing method.
I like stamping and coloring,  I am just not that good at it yet. So a good alternative is to paper piece some of the stamped parts of an image.

For those of you that are not aware of how to do this, it is quite simple.
You stamp your image on whatever paper your are going to use for the base.

Now for the fun part. For my card, I wanted to use the cute flower pattern paper for her dress. So I stamped the image onto the pattern paper (Just love this paper. It's from Bo Bunny and can be found over at Ginger Snap Scraps) and then cut around the part of the dress I wanted to have this pattern.
Once cut out, I just glued it onto the base image.

Now, I do suggest if you will be doing any coloring with markers to the image, do this first and then add our paper piecing items. I continued and did the same for the top part of the dress and the kite. I did pop up the kit with pop dots for some added dimension.

It's a great way for anyone to use these stamps and create one of a kind looks without having to worry about blending marker colors.

Here's How I did it....
Base card is yellow Bazzill card stock
Pattern papers all from the Bo Bunny Hello Sunshine Paper stack
Image and sentiment is from My Favorite Things, Aim High
Sparklies from my stash

Have you heard the buzz?

Have you heard, there is a new challenge blog coming. Yup- Sonia over at SKdigis will be starting her challenge blog the beginning of September. So now is the time to hop over and become a follower so you don't miss out on any of the the fun stuff when it begins.

In the meantime you can check out and start playing with her digi's now.

I think her Queen Bee image is so cute!
I brought this image into the silhouette software to color and cut it and the shadow out.
front of card
The more I use my cameo and the software, I am more and more impressed with what this machine and it's software can do. As I was playing I decided to also cut the fun shaped mats, scallop borders and sentiments.  One machine that does it all.
inside card
It ended up that I printed and cut everything for this card from the Cameo. The only extras I added was the button.

I hear there are will be a whole series of the Queen Bee....stay tuned!

Here's how I did it...
Card base is white card stock and A2 size
Pattern papers are all digi papers from the Silhouette software
Queen Bee image from SK Digis and colored in Silhouette software and then cut out
The bee is popped up on the shadow with pop dots
Mats and black scallop borders also from Silhouette software

GSS Christmas in July Blog Hop- Day 2!

Welcome back to day 2 of our Christmas In July Blog Hop with the Ginger Snap Scraps Design Team!
If you came from Ashley's blog then you are in the right spot!
If you want to start form the beginning, click here.

Wow, there were so many great projects yesterday, I can't wait to see what everyone has done for day 2.

If you missed yesterday, no worries, let me bring you up to speed.

This weekend, the Design Team is featuring projects all about Christmas! Yes, I know, already! But it is only 5 months away!

I found this a great little nudge to get started on holiday cards. I figure one here and there will build my stash so I am ready to send cards in December.

So my card today is a 6x6 card with a kraft paper base again. I really do love kraft card stock.

I used many scraps of several papers for this card, but the red and red star pattern papers were from the Authentique Glory paper Pad. I love this stack and have used it so much that I had to order another one already. You can get one too right now over at the GSS online store.
I used the Elegant edges cart for the mats, the boot was cut at 3.25" from the Just Because Cards cart and the holly leaves from the CM Tis the Season cartridge. I added a brad, some twine, sticker pearls and a bow from my stash. The sentiment is from my very own BugBites stamp set, Mistletoe .
Now I don't want to keep you waiting, there is so much more to see from the DT.
But first there is blog candy!

GSS is giving away 2 - $10 gift card to Ginger Snap Scraps!

My hot dog buddy came from the Block Party cartridge. I added Mr. Potato head arms and feet from the Toy Story cartridge for a totally different scene than normal for a hot dog unless you are at a baseball game and one goes running across the scoreboard...LOL. I also added a small bottle of ketchup from the Block Party cart.

I hope you will find inspiration and embrace the challenge to use a hot dog in your project design too. Stop over to link up and see what other fun projects the DT has come up with for you.

I added glossy accents to the eye glasses for an extra touch.  I cannot remember the paper pad I pulled these blue.green tone papers from and I am not at home to look, sorry.

This second card I used papers from Bo Bunny.

Movie and Song Theme day at GSS

Happy Monday everyone. I have enjoyed having the last week off from work. Traveled to family last weekend, enjoyed some great music concerts over the 4th of July and got some much needed weeding and dead heading done in the flower gardens.

Today the Ginger Snap Scrap Dt has put together some fun projects based on a movie or favorite song. I have so many favorite movies, it's hard to pick just one. I know it is corny, but I really enjoy the Princess Diary movies.
So I pulled out an svg file from the Lettering Delights Happily Ever After set for my card today. I happen to pick Snow White being that too, is a great movie.
What is really cool, is Lettering Delights also offered the back sides to these princesses if you wanted to make cupcake toppers or something. I printed it on the back of my card and then paper pieced her on the front.

This is the first shaped card I did on my Cameo. I am still discovering the many awesome things this machine can do. The overall size of this card is 4"x4"

I used Bazzill papers, Lawn Fawn pattern papers, and Peachy Keen stamps, all of which can be found over at the Ginger Snap Scraps online store.

Here's How I did it...

A Simple Crafts Challenge Project with Wobbles.

I recently came across this new to me challenge blog, Simply Crafts. I really enjoy challenges where you are to use a specific cut from a Cricut cart. I am sad to say this challenge was to use a cut from the Beep Beep cart. I don't have that one, can you believe it- LOL!
Fortunately, any airplane cut will do. Seeing the preferred image, I immediately thought of the Hello Kitty cart.

A week or so ago, Mary over at CardzTV did a video where she gave a great tip when using the cuts from this cart. She mentioned that if you cut the image using the silhouette feature, the other pieces will fit right into the open spaces like a puzzle making it extremely easy to piece these little cuts together. I tried this technique and like magic, everything went together super fast.

I added an action wobble to the die cut to give some motion as she flies across the sky.

Action wobble added to die cut
Now here is another blog you will want to check out as well. It's brand new and called Action Wobbles. While they get ready to do the full launch of this new blog, the DT is on the look out for projects using action wobbles. If they catch you using a wobble, you could win a prize package of action wobbles. How cool is this!

I have the rest of this week off from work, so I am off to do some weeding and deadheading in my gardens. It is super hot today, so we will see how long I last out there.

Have a super creative day!

Here's how I did it...
A2 card based of white card stock

Happy 4th Of July!!!

Happy 4th of July.

Hope you all are spending time with family and taking time to remember and appreciate all our fore fathers did for us in order to have the freedom we have to do.

We enjoyed an evening at a local church festival last night with an outdoor concert featuring a Beatles band. Liverpool Legends. A bit warm, or should I say really HOT but lots of fun.
Today, we plan on enjoying more music in the park near our house. During the summer, the park has music every Wednesday evening. Just bring a lawn chair and enjoy. Two outdoor concerts in one week-Yipee!!
In honor of today's celebration, here is Happy 4th of July wishes to all of you from my little Uncle Sam.
Also, a shout out to all of those in the neighboring country, Canada,  celebrating their special day this week as well.

I inked a white square of card stock with Tim Holtz ink to create a back drop for my flip flops.
I love this new Tim Holtz ink, Picked Raspberry. It's part of the summer limited edition. You can find it over at Ginger Snap Scraps now.

The DT at Ginger Snap Scraps has been working with these new inks and have come up with some amazing projects for you. Be sure to stop by and take a look.
